Two nights ago Luca got quilled by a porcupine all over his nose. Luca has been known to poodle punch others before. We had a big discussion about how the porcupine was protecting herself. I was in such a hurry to get them out of Luca that I didn’t take a photo. I regretted this later. Tonight a different porcupine got Hudson. Luca was a good boy and retreated as soon as he saw this porcupine. Hudson and I had to have the same talk. Hudson asked if the porcupine meant to hurt him. I told him again he was protecting himself and that Hudson will never win and that it may hurt more if he goes after another. Hudson than replied, “I think when he sticks me like that it’s kind of like a bite. I think I’ll remember and stay away.” I will imagine only my pups retreating. I have to admit there is a part of me that wonders, did I manifest this in our life so I have another opportunity to take a photo! My animals are kind to all living beings.
