It was so tempting to let Hudson off his 16 foot lead to run.  It felt like we were the only ones in the woods. Hudson is prey driven and if he had seen a bear, elk, moose, deer, or any other animal he would have chased them for a great distance before he would have given up and come back.  I was worried he would get hurt or lost, so I kept him on a leash.   

In my younger years, I would have let my dog off leash, not worried, and just waited for them to come back.   Oh how we change. I am much more responsible now.  

Hudson says,

“I understand why you have me on leash. You want me to watch, not chase.  It’s ok. I know you are concerned about me.”
