This is Enzo. He says, “Sometimes when they tell me, ‘no bite’ I can’t stop. It’s very difficult.”
😊Sometimes, they just make me laugh. I get it. It’s hard to be a puppy and have consciousness too. It takes time to gain impulse control. After I stopped giggling, we talked about using “Leave it.” Instead of “No bite.”
“Leave it” tells an animal what you want them to do, not what you don’t want them to do. I also explained to Enzo to stop when he does remember and to use his calming signals when he feels confused. Some of those are licking, yawning, stretching, turning away…
There is no doubt in my mind that Enzo is going to be a perfect boy. He is a smart one and has the best humans as parents!
