Thunder is a four year old full bred German Shepherd that has great energy and potential. He originally came into our program as a rescue from a local shelter and has spent time in a foster home. He has a lot of youthful energy and excitement in him and yet can also be content to lounge around a house most of the day.

Thunder is a quick learner and he is by far the best trained dog in our program. He is house broken, crate trained, knows basic commands (sit, wait and come) and walks well on a leash. He will bond quickly to a new owner and become very affectionate. Thunder has shown that he may be good around female dogs after an initial meeting, but he will display dominance around male dogs, so Thunder is not a candidate for someone looking to adopt a dog to take to a dog park. He also will gladly chase cats. He spends time around older children, but because of his size and strong bonding capability, he will do best in a household with older children. He plays well with toys and is not possessive of them.

Thunder would make a great addition to a home that does not have other pets and in a home with an adopter that has previous large breed dog experience. He is a wonderful dog that needs a strong and wonderful family.
