Looking for Something
Tag Archives: LOVE
I have two books out now! Voices of the Animals A collection of insightful articles and stories that will change the way you view and treat animals and Stormy’s Words of Wisdom An enlightened dog’s profound insights on life. They are a must-read for any animal lover! They are also fantastic gifts for the holidays. You can find them on Amazon!
When I sat down for a moment to rest, Easter came over to tell me, “Mom, I just found myself in a bucket of love.”
“What does that mean?” I asked her.
She replied, “It means that when you finally rest for a moment, I feel all the love energy that follows you around drop down around us. It also means to find love in the endless bucket inside of you. I am very knowledgeable on love. You have to recognize it to feel its power.”
This is my late cat Makia. When she was 15 she said,
“Love is when you care about yourself first thing in the morning. If you love yourself it is easier to love others. Love is caring about your space and the foods you eat. Love is watching a butterfly fly to a flower.”
note: The first year of Makia’s life we lived in the path of the Monarchs migration. Daily we saw hundreds of butterflies. Even at 21 years old, Makia talked about attracting butterflies. She now manifests herself as a white butterfly in my front yard to let me know she is still around. When I first adopted her I was deep in the study of healing. I named her Makia after the 3rd Huna Principle of Life . “Energy Flows Where Attention Goes.”
Makia was an embodiment of that principle her whole life.
The 7 fundamental principles of Huna are:
IKE – The world is what you think it is
KALA – There are no limits, everything is possible
MAKIA – Energy flows where attention goes
MANAWA – Now is the moment of power
ALOHA – To love is to be happy with
MANA – All power comes from within
PONO – Effectiveness is the measure of truth
Maia my wolf dog in heaven says,
“Love is a stream of consciousness. If you connect into that stream and anchor yourself to it you will always be protected. Love is following what is true. Love is being honest about what you can or can not do and love is believing in yourself to accomplish what others may think is impossible. When you love an animal or person fully it helps them reside in the stream of love. Heaven has many different dimensions. Love runs through all of them. The highest dimension is pure love. I reside there.”
Ella says, “Love is when energy has a peaceful momentum. Sometimes you have to turn away in order to move forward.”
This is Delilah. She is 10 years old.
She says during a session,
“Well I know my mom (person) gets stressed but she is so beautiful. She has a goddess energy around her and whenever she gets stressed I want to tell her, ‘Go get a foot bath, let dad rub your feet, and chill out’. She should do some cat stretches. I don’t go with my mom’s stress cause she has so many other good qualities I choose to focus on. Well I am about to tell you a story about love. Sometimes when the world turns up side down and you dont know where to turn and you feel like you are alone, all you have to do is meditate on your heart and look around at the beings you share your life with. Then everything feels better.”
Her person writes after the session:
Delilah is the angel of our household. She is always talking about Love, and bringing compassionate, positive thoughts to everyone. I have been feeling a bit stressed lately and have tried to communicate to my cats that I do not want to worry them, and I hope to work through my negative energy gracefully so that I do not let it fester, and pass on to them. The quotes from Delilah are regarding that topic. I always love having sessions with Laura so I can hear Delilah’s wisdom word for word. Laura is truly the most loving, and gifted intuitive I know. Our family is so blessed to know her and call her a friend.

Clyde is the sweetest bunny in the world! He says about his new life, “This life is really special. Everyone loves me. I have lots of free time to roam and secret places to hide. There are a lot of animals here that have become my friend. Hudson can scare me sometimes when he wants to play but I like sharing a bed with him. The other animals love me. I never feel alone. I get tons of veggies and strawberries my favorite. And apples and bananas too! I’m glad I’m here. I have a routine I can count on. My favorite thing is my out door pen. It’s open most of the time and it has a really comfortable bed. I can sleep in the house with everyone else or outdoors. My choice. I’m really happy here. My mom can’t stop kissing me and telling me how great I am. It makes me feel special. I do miss my kids from my last home but I had some kids visit me here. I feel loved here everyday not just some days. I’m lucky.”
Easter says, “He is the biggest dog friend I have ever had. He is an explorer like me.”
Hudson says, “She’s all joy and I found her first. I love her.”
Amika Needs A Home! She’s at German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County California www.GSROC.org
Five year old Amika was the beloved companion and best friend of a decorated Purple Heart Marine. He died without warning leaving her heartbroken and alone. She stayed by his side for 3 days until he was found.
She was then taken to a nearby shelter to await her fate. The staff at the shelter were crushed to see this beloved companion of a hero sit there day after day. Amika was out of time…
Luckily, the shelter reached out to GSROC in a last attempt to save this special girl. A volunteer rushed to save her.
Amika is a larger sized girl and about 5 years old.She is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She rides well in the car and likes to go for walks. She is very affectionate and loving.
GSROC promised Amika they would find her a family to love her and care for her. We owe it to not only Amika, but the hero who loved her and gave so much for our country. Please share. If you have any questions or would like to meet Amika please call Shawn at 714/206-9002 or email ShawnGSDRescue@aol.com

This is Wushu. She is 3 years old. I have known her since she was a small young pup. She’s my friend.
She says, “I know that you are always called in when I am trouble but I don’t feel like I am trouble this time. I feel like Mickey (Dog of Wushu’s person’s boyfriend) is really not wanting me around. I feel like he feels like no one should get close to his dad, even my mom. I say this is no problem let it be and
he says, “This is a problem. I like my alone time.”
… I go and hide because I don’t like myself when I am have Mickey around. I don’t like the feelings I have in my body. I have fear and I have an intense feeling to be mad, and I am not sure how to make it better.
*After the conflict resolution Wushu says,
“I would like to tell my mom that I really love her and I am really happy with our life together. I feel good about that. I feel like mom makes me smart. I hope to become friends with Mickey cause he is right enemies are not fun. They make you sick to your stomach.”
Wushu person writes: Laura, thank you again for your help. Before we could do anything after our conversation, there was an immediate, positive shift between Mickey and Wushu’s interactions. Their tolerance of each other continues to improve (gradually…as strong personalities sure need baby steps!), but we’re working on it. We shared burgers per Mickey’s request, go to new places, and this past weekend both of them did a great job at the beach (per Wushu’s request)!
