This is Java. Sometimes he spooks, and his people are not sure why.
He says, “I spook at things that have to do with pain in the left side of my mouth. It may have to do with my teeth and my bit (what goes in a horse’s mouth when ridden). I will feel normal; then suddenly, I have this sharp pain that goes down my back and gets me in the rear.
I don’t mean to be dangerous. ..I love my life. My family, my trainer, and my mom are great.”
There are hundreds of reasons why horses spook. Often it is a pain in the body, post traumatic stress, or just a lack of knowledge on the rider’s part on how to build confidence in a horse to deal with stress safely.
Important information. Thank you !
Two questions please:
Did Java’s tooth get repaired?
What is the most comfortable bit for a horse?
Thank you Laura!
Thank you Java too!
