This is Savannah. She lived at the county shelter for many months. A volunteer has become her person and has spent a huge amount of time teaching Savannah to feel safe. Savannah says about learning basic commands, “I am happy it is learning instead of having to know.”

Allie’s sister Amber, another golden, recently died in her sleep of old age. Allie says, “I saw Amber’s spirit run up a ray of light up to heaven. I wanted to follow her, but she turned around and told me I must stay.” I asked Allie what could make her feel more secure since Amber
